The D20ME is the sixth generation main processor for the D20 platform. This 32-bit main processor module handles data collection and delivery to host computers, runs local automation algorithms and maintains I/O and device data in the system database.

How many devices can I connect directly to the D20ME?

The board itself features 7 serial ports (RS-232/485) for direct connections to IEDs. Additionally, it has 2 dedicated D.20 Link ports that connect to racks of distributed I/O modules, which can interface with hundreds of field points (TIs, TOs, etc.).

Does the D20ME II support Ethernet communication?

The base D20 ME does not have a built-in Ethernet port, but it is "Wireless Ethernet Ready" via PPP. For native 10/100 Ethernet connectivity, the D20 main chassis can be upgraded with the optional D20EME Ethernet/Memory Board.

What happens if there is a power failure? Is the data saved?

The D20 ME is equipped with 512 KB of NVRAM (Non-Volatile RAM) . This memory retains critical data (such as configuration and accumulated values) even when power is lost.

Is the D20 ME suitable for harsh environments?

Yes. It is specifically designed for electric substations.
